Amanda is a writer, poet and creative writing undergraduate at The University of the Highlands and Islands. Her ancestry and love for the Highland landscape are deeply ingrained in her writing. She is inspired by darkness and light in nature, people, and artistic expression. Her love for storytelling was inherited from her father, who would tell wild tales of local myth, folklore and fairytales.
Amanda’s prose and poetry have been published in Northwords Now and Reflex Fiction. She was shortlisted for The Scottish Mental Health Festival‘s International Creative Writing Competition 2018. She was also awarded second place in Highland Lit’s creative writing competition, Highland Lights.
